Compare roofing proposals with confidence Certified Roof Systems | Reviewed 24 October 2026 Two roof proposals may describe different work. Use a consistent checklist to compare the assembly, exclusions, allowances and written terms. Normalize the scope before comparing totals Check that each proposal addresses removal, disposal, substrate preparation, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and drainage. Confirm the actual material and accessories rather than a broad product category. [ ] Tear-off or recovery assumptions and existing layers. [ ] Deck repair allowances and approval method. [ ] Flashing and roof-to-wall transition treatment. [ ] Site protection, cleanup and access arrangements. Separate coverage from assumptions Request the actual workmanship and manufacturer warranty documents. Eligibility, exclusions, registration and maintenance requirements can vary. A contractor credential alone does not identify the warranty you will receive. Write down questions beside each proposal and resolve them before signing. The checklist is an organizing aid, not a contract review or engineering assessment. Planning aid only. Do not climb onto a roof to complete this document. info@certifiedroofsystems.com
