Plan asphalt shingle roofing as a complete system. Explore roof replacement details, ventilation, flashing and written scope with Certified Roof Systems.
Look beyond the shingle color
A shingle roof depends on the deck, underlayment, roof edges, flashing and ventilation as well as the visible product. Ask how the proposed work addresses each part of the assembly and which existing components will be evaluated or retained.
Architectural profile and color affect appearance, but product selection also needs to suit the roof slope and the specified installation requirements. Compare the named system and supporting components in the actual proposal.
Resolve leaks and moisture questions before replacement
Tell us about recurring stains, past flashing repairs, attic moisture and changes to insulation or ventilation. These observations help frame an assessment of the existing roof. Replacing a surface without understanding the underlying concern can leave important questions unresolved.
Ask what deck conditions can be seen before work and what may remain concealed until tear-off. The proposal should explain how unexpected conditions will be documented, priced and approved.
Understand the credential and the warranty separately
Certified Roof Systems is GAF Certified. A manufacturer credential and a specific project warranty are related but separate subjects. Ask which product, components, installation requirements and registration terms apply to the proposed roof.
Review the actual manufacturer document and the contractor’s workmanship terms before approval. Do not infer a particular enhanced warranty, tier or coverage period from a badge alone. Our warranty guide provides a practical checklist for that conversation.
Start with a property-specific plan
Use the estimator to identify the property and explore available measurements and preliminary replacement pricing. Then confirm tear-off, disposal, flashing, ventilation, access, protection and closeout in the written scope.
For an active leak, call (406) 221-8585 first. For a planned replacement, share the address, goals and repair history so the conversation is focused on the home and the roof system it needs.

Frequently asked questions
Does a GAF credential mean every roof includes an enhanced warranty?
No. Warranty eligibility depends on the particular product, system, installation and registration terms. Ask for the actual warranty included in your project proposal.
Can I compare shingle quotes by price per square alone?
That can miss differences in tear-off, deck allowances, flashing, ventilation, access and disposal. Compare the complete scope and exclusions as well as the measurement basis.
